Enviroschools - Learning for a Sustainable World


Shows how the Enviroschools process works in schools and their communities. Students and teachers from 8 enviroschools contributed their stories showing a rich variety of approaches. A bonus disk is the Solution to an Inconvenient Truth which is a case study of three enviroschools in the Auckland region - an early childhood centre, a primary school and secondary school.

He Pae Korero - Short Stories

Presents the Māori aspects of the Enviroschools Programme through performance and story-telling. 13 stories in total, each story approximately 3 to 7 minutes in duration. The DVD is designed for use with the Kit by schools registered with the Enviroschools Programme.

Enviroschools supports an annual student film challenge called The Outlook for Someday.  Entries are up to five minutes long, any genre.  Dozens of high quality films have been produced - check out the past winners!

Our favourites include Calvin Sang's Mr. Box, and Team Waiheke's Matariki 2008.

An empowering film about young Kiwis and climate change


Lessons from a Melting Icecap is a film about three young Otago Girls' High School students who travelled to England and Greenland to look at climate change issues on the other side of the world.  It is 38 minutes long, and designed for use in New Zealand schools, to help students engage positively with the issue of climate change.

The Royal Society of New Zealand and Freemasons New Zealand have teamed up to give away $2000 worth of copies (and an associated resource) to schools. If you are a school teacher, and would like a copy, please email Jinty MacTavish, the filmmaker.
