The Outlook for Someday Film Making Workshops

FILM-MAKING WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, TEACHERS AND YOUTH WORKERS

The Outlook for Someday sustainability film project for young people is excited to present its 2012 series of free one-day film-making workshops.

The workshops are open to students from years 7 to 13 as well as primary/intermediate teachers and youth workers.

This is an opportunity for young people and adults to upskill together and to engage with The Outlook for Someday as a vehicle for sustainability film-making. It builds on the success of the pilot Workshop Series in  2011.

The workshops will be held throughout New Zealand from late May to early August 2012.

Locations, dates and venue details are on The Outlook for Someday website. Each workshop will run from 9am to 4.30pm. Spaces are limited to 25 participants per workshop.

Students, teachers and youth workers are invited to register for a workshop in their area by using the online form at www.theoutlookforsomeday.net/workshops

Travelling Tuna Tapestry

Save New Zealand's Longfin Tuna

Using the inspirational book by Stephanie Bowman 'Velvet and Elvis', New Zealand students are being invited to learn more about the Longfin eel and help raise awareness for the need to protect it.

Schools around the country are jumping on board to learn about the unique biology and habitat of the longfin eel and have created amazing tapestry's that once sewn together will form a great longfin eel.

Velvet's Travelling Tapestry is now at 60m in length!  Visit Stephanie's site at savetheeels.wordpress.com/ or download more information about the campaign at www.bowmansart.com
