EcoMatters Environment Trust, a dynamic and growing charitable trust based in New Lynn, Waitakere City is seeking a fulltime team member to co-ordinate its environmental education initiatives, including facilitating the Enviroschools Programme, to a selected number of schools in Waitakere City.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a holistic approach to environmental education, understand school systems, enjoy working in a team, be comfortable with a range of communication styles, be a creative thinker, have excellent organisational skills, be enthusiastic, dedicated, self-motivated and be able to work independently.
Extensive knowledge of the New Zealand school environment is a requirement of the role and experience of how schools operate; including knowledge of the formal curriculum, is a requirement of the role. Ideally, the successful candidate will have teaching qualifications and experience working in New Zealand schools. In order to be considered for the role, the successful candidate must be able to attend a training course in Raglan from 21 to 23 May 2008.
Excellent English skills, both written and oral are also a requirement of the role as is a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence. The successful candidate will be required to pass a police background check.
