Fair Trade Fortnight 2008 (3 - 18 May)

28th April 2008

This year's theme is Environmental Justice
Fair Trade Fortnight is a event that involves a number of organisations across New Zealand. There is a supermarket campaign, a national coffee break event and a whole heap of other local events

Trade Aid is organising events across New Zealand aimed at making New Zealanders think about the justice issues surrounding our current lifestyles. They aim to promote fair trade as an environmentally sustainable alternative to conventional trade and to encourage consumers to look at carbon footprints within production in addition to the current trend of examining travel miles.

In 2008, Trade Aid's promotion consists of four main areas of activity:
- Local activities in Fair Trade shops
- School programmes including resources for teachers
- Junk to Green Funk competition
- Art Auction
