Just Write is a new programme for budding young journalists and activists. The Just Focus team are looking for 10 young people, 12 – 18, interested in writing about global issues for their website, www.justfocus.org.nz, and other youth media. They will bring them to Wellington for training in March, and they’ll be mentored and supported throughout the year to produce stories in a variety of mediums. Media That Matters Aotearoa 2008
Media That Matters Aotearoa is a short film festival being run by and for young people in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in June this year. The Just Focus team are looking for young people (under 21s) to be a part of MTM organising committees in each city. The group will be in charge of (with the friendly, helpful nudging of a regional coordinator) all aspects of the festival – from film selection to promotion. Anyone, including groups of young people who'd like to come together, interested just needs to get in touch with the National Coordinator by February 25. More information available here
