The Enviroschools Foundation nominated for 2007 Carl Bertelsmann Prize

"Civic Engagement as an Educational Goal"
The Carl Bertelsmann prize traditionally honours innovative ideas and exemplary solutions to pressing social issues. In 2007 the focus of the prize was "Civic Engagement as an Educational Goal". The aim of the prize was to highlight the idea of young people as key agents for social change.
68 international innovative and educational initiatives were identified, and of these 15 were nominated for the 2007 Carl Bertelsmann Prize, including The Enviroschools Foundation. Other nominees were from Germany, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Canada, South Africa and the United States of America. The overall winner of the prize for 2007 was the Citizenship Foundation from Great Britain.
