2007 YHA Young Conservationist Awards

25th July 2007

entries close 5pm 7 September 2007
The YHA Young Conservationist Awards are an annual environmental award programme for individuals or groups under the age of 18. YHA New Zealand and DOC are looking for innovative projects that include a hands-on component relating to conservation. The awards are a great opportunity to showcase projects or research students are working on under environmental education criteria or curriculum areas such as science, technology, social studies, biology, geography, the arts and english. In addition, projects can be done independently, based on students’ personal interest and involvement in conservation and can be located anywhere – at school, on a Marae, by a river, on the coast, in a reserve or in an entrant’s backyard.
An Awards brief is available and includes the criteria to be used in judging this year’s entries. Entry forms are available from the YHA New Zealand website. The closing date for the 2007 YHA Young Conservationist Awards is 7 September 2007.
