THE OUTLOOK FOR SOMEDAY - A Sustainable film challenge
25th June 2007
A call for all young New Zealanders (up to 20 years of age) to showcase their talent and help the planet.
The project involves both TVNZ and Maori Television and is a partnership between Connected Media, The Enviroschools Foundation and the Global Education Centre.
On the project website the Outlook for Someday website young New Zelanders are encouraged to "make a short film about how you see the future unfolding. Look at your world through a lens of sustainability. Give your personal take on what matters to you, focused on the future."
THE OUTLOOK FOR SOMEDAY was launched at Maori Television on Thursday 21 June by Minister of Youth Development and Associate Minister of the Environment, Hon. Nanaia Mahuta.
Twenty winning films, to be selected by a team of judges including film industry personnel, will be screened on TVNZ 6, the first of TVNZ's new digital channels, to be launched in September.
Connected Media is also making a primetime documentary about THE OUTLOOK FOR SOMEDAY for Maori Television, featuring some of the winning films and film-makers.
