Enviroschools Energiser Hui 2007 a great event

10th August 2007

The Enviroschools Annual National Hui was held at Living Springs Camp and Conference Centre, Christchurch from 2-4 August 2007.
115 people from throughout Aotearoa attended the hui, a great mix of teachers, facilitators, regional coordinators, funders, EfS advisors, partner organisation representatives and Board members. With such a large and diverse number of people coming together there were plenty of great opportunities for networking, sharing and building a sense of community.
The focus of the Hui this year was around ‘facilitating learning’ - sharing creative teaching and learning techniques for the classroom. Sessions included:
* Facilitation - what is it we are talking about?
* Streamed Sessions: What are we doing now that is working?
* Maori perspectives on facilitating learning
* Workshops focussed on genuine student participation
* Sharing of inspirational movies and digital stories
* Energiser activities and much more

Prior to the start of the hui there was the opportunity for people to take part in a bus tour around two Christchurch enviroschools, where students and teachers from these schools allowed us to share in what they are involved with in their enviroschools journey.

Thanks to Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti and South New Brighton Primary for opening your doors to us, thanks to the Enviroschools National Office team for their organisation and facilitation at the hui, and thanks to everyone who came and took part for making it the successful, inspiring event that it was.
