Environmental make-over series coming soon to TV3!

...learning opportunity for enviroschools
The environmental make-over series WA$TED! is about to hit our screens early in Term 1!
The Enviroschools Foundation & Fumes TV have teamed up to bring students and teachers activities to use before, during or after each of the ten WA$TED! episodes.
We encourage you to put aside classroom and planning time now to use this TV series as a popular way to motivate and inspire students to take an interest in the environmental curriculum and toolkit activities.
In the week prior to each episode there will be an episode ‘taster’ with links to downloadable activities and reflective questions from the enviroschools tool kit on the Enviroschools website: www.enviroschools.org.nz. The activities and questions will help students identify their home and school’s energy, waste and water situation, and encourage them to investigate and take action on their findings.
The first episodes material will be up in advance on the 6th February. Teachers and students can preview the themes in the first episode and plan how it might fit into their classroom programme.
The official WA$TED! website will include the eco calculator used in the programme so students can work out their own household footprint, and a discussion board where students & teachers can share their thoughts about each episode. This would also be a great place to share any actions you have taken at home or school!
