Interested in Marine Conservation?

check out details of a National Marine Education Wananga to be held 26 – 28th September, 2007 at Whakapaumahara Marae, Whananaki, Northland
The Experiences Marine Reserves Team have organised this wananga around the theme of "Engaging Schools & Communities in Marine Conservation"

Purpose: Professional development and networking opportunity for community relations and marine environmental educator’s & to ensure strong delivery of the EMR concept around NZ.

Objectives:
• Share stories about EMR delivery outcomes from around the country
• Provide a forum for marine educators to talk about marine education initiatives & projects
• To provide professional development (snorkeling, expert speakers)
• To provide a forum to discuss marine conservation and ways we can engage communities and what we can do for marine conservation


Cost: (including accommodation)

Waged people: $210 + wetsuit hire if required
Unwaged/non-profits: $130 + wetsuit hire if required
School Teachers: $130 + wetsuit hire if required
EMR coordinators (up to 2 per region): Free
