Enviroschools National Hui a success

14th October 2005

Enviroschools participants from around New Zealand gathered in Rotorua at the end of September for the annual Enviroschools Hui.

Over 100 people attended the 2005 Enviroschools Hui held at Tui Ridge Park, just north of Rotorua. The largest Hui ever included Teachers, Principals, Facilitators and representatives from the Local Authorities who fund Enviroschools in each region.

Highlights included the inclusion of early childhood and secondary schools in the programme, a wonderful performance by Soul Speed (an environmental dance troop from Whaingaroa/Raglan) and a focus on programme development. There were also lots of opportunities to catch-up with old friends and create new support networks.

Thanks to the Lion Foundation and the Ministry of Education's Quality Teaching Partnership Fund for providing funding assistance.
