Friday 13th May was a lucky day for Verran School. The Prime Minister the Rt. Hon Helen Clark attended their Enviroschools Awards ceremony.
Students and staff of Verran school welcomed Helen Clark, and guests from the Auckland Regional Council, North Shore City Council, the Department of Conservation, the Enviroschools Foundation, the Tindall Foundation, the Lion Foundation and TV One News ...phew...to their celebration to recognise acheiving the GreenGold Enviroschools Award.
Students welcomed the guests with songs and performed the abridged version of their "Envirotastophe" play. They then ran a guided tour of the school.
It was a fun afternoon and an important opportunity to show decision makers in central and local government what Enviroschools is all about.
