Family Day Out at Holdsworth Lodge
It’s ten years since the Enviroschools Programme went nationwide. In Wellington we thought it was time to celebrate. So the Enviroschools team, their families and friends, and other supporters all headed for Holdsworth Lodge in the Wairarapa.

Some of those who had been around a long time in this region were present. From Left:
Karyn Burgess (first involved in Enviroschools as a teacher at Fernridge School, Masterton, supported by Jo Campbell in 2003; Enviroschools Regional Coordinator 2007 onwards), Sue Campbell (first involved as a teacher at Pukerua Bay School, supported by Jo Campbell in 2002; EfS Advisor and Enviroschools Facilitator 2009; Maths Advisor and EfS Under Cover Agent 2010, teacher Ridgway School 2011), Jan Cox (took over from Jo Campbell as EfS Advisor and Enviroschools Regional Coordinator in 2003, Enviroschools National Team 2009-11), Jean Pugh (Enviroschools Facilitator since 2004), Gill Stewart (first involved as a teacher at Gladstone School 2003; Enviroschools Facilitator 2005 onwards).
We also had visits from two councillors who had helped get Enviroschools underway in the Wairarapa. The faciliation team and their families came and other Enviroschools supporters joined in the fun at various times throughout the day and the night. Even people who weren't there were there!

Ranginui, Tamanuitera and Tawhirimatea provided us with perfect weather for a picnic day; Papatuanuku and Tanemahuta provided us with a perfect location, and DOC helped us out with an awesome venue for a day of fun and an overnight stay.
