Awards Reflection Sessions 2012

If your school is considering reflecting for an award in 2012, please:

·         Register your interest with your facilitator by the end of term 1.
·         If staff have not already attended a Reflecting For Progress workshop, book in.
·         Develop a visual representation of your school’s environmental journey.

Your facilitator can then help you plan what your reflection session might look like.
This involves:
·         planning a reflection process that we all feel will work for your school
·         identifing a reflection team - see pages 297-299 of your Enviroschools Kit
·         sharing the reflection process with those on the team
·         ensuring the team all have the necessary understandings to be able to reflect meaningfully on your school's journey -most importantly, a good understanding of the Enviroschools Guiding Principles

Once you have done the necessary preparation, complete the attached form to book in for a time for your reflection session during term 2 or 3 in 2011.

Celebrations

To allow time to prepare certificates, organise presenters, and make sure we can help you organise a fabulous celebration, we ask that schools hold their celebrations early in the term following the term in which they reflect for the award.

Enviroschools Wellington Awards Recipients 2010

Congratulations to:

Glenview Primary School - Green-Gold! (We were so proud of our GreenGold flag we waved it to cheer on our basketball team for the final of the league.)

Naenae Primary School - Green-Gold! (Mrs Fergusson made every student at the school their own cup cake for celebration day, now that's dedicated baking. You should have seen the Hutt City Mayor cheering with his pom poms!)

Douglas Park School - Green-Gold! (We all wore green and gold rosettes for our Green Gold assembly and the kapa haka group performed a rousing haka while we raised the flag that Tui and her mum designed.)

Saint Patrick's Primary School - Silver (The students at St Patricks went straight away and made their own sign to put on their front gate the next day so that everyone would know that they were a silver school.)

Little Earth Montessori School - Silver

Maranatha Christian School - Silver (Nearly every student in the school had something to say on Reflection Day - there is certainly a whole school commitment here.)
