Sustainability in ECE - A real success!
The Tauranga Regional Kindergarten Association (TRK) hosted a 'Sustainability in ECE' conference in Tauranga from 28-29 July 2011. It was a wonderful event that saw five key note speakers and around 20 workshops that focused on aspects of sustainability. Here are some of the highlights that are sure to inspire you!

Four kindergartens from Tauranga presented at one of the workshops and shared their sustainability journey's so far. This was a fabulous workshop that demonstrated how different the enviroschools programme could look in different centres. Carolyn O'Connor launched a resource she produced as part of a NZEI scholarship. It focuses on how an association can take action on sustainability and highlights many wonderful learning experiences that Tauranga kindergartens are undertaking. Dr Julie Davies from Queensland University was one of the key note speakers. She spoke about the international EC body in Sweden, OMEP, which was really interesting.
