Universal Energy

CONGRATULATIONS, getting started on measuring your Universal Energy sustainable outcomes. Follow the links to download the summary sheets and resources to get underway.

Knowing where your school's energy comes from and how you use it is a crucial first step to understanding what changes can be made.

Monitoring will provide information on how successful your energy actions have been and what to plan for next.

Sharing results through the Measuring Sustainable Outcomes project will help your school understand how they're doing in a national context.

UNIVERSAL ENERGY SUMMARY

·    Download the Universal Energy Summary here.

·    Use the Data Collection Pack and Teacher Support Activities to help find the information to fill in all the fields.

·    Fax or post the completed summary back to The Enviroschools Foundation, PO Box 19104, Hamilton 3244. Fax 07 959 7326.

·    We’ll send you a report showing how you’re doing and what your current energy trends are showing. Over time you’ll be able to compare your annual trends and see how other schools are doing.

DATA COLLECTION PACK

·    In this pack you will find tools to measure the energy used at your school and how much this is costing. You will need to go through administration files to find this information.

·    The data sheets will record the different types of energy you use including any on site generation at your school.

NERI (National Energy Research Institute) have resources to help you do this. Check out Energy Efficient Schools: A guide for trustees, principals, teachers, students, caretakers and energy managers. www.neri.org.nz/education/energy_efficient_schools
